Introduction

The Old Chapel is a brick and flint 19th Century former chapel located just outside the village and surrounded by fields.


Pre-Arrival

• We have an extensive website, with pictures and descriptions of the property, the village and the wider North Norfolk area.
• Bookings / enquiries can be made directly from the website via email, or by telephone or letter.
• All guests are provided with written directions to The Old Chapel [available in different font size and dyslexia friendly font].
• The nearest bus stop is 500m away in the centre of the village.
• This access statement is available on our website and in the 'Welcome File' in the cottage.


Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• There is parking for two cars immediately to the front of The Old Chapel.
• The parking area is a level gravelled surface.


Main Entrance & Reception

• Entrance is at the front of The Old Chapel.
• There is an automatic security light to the right of the front door.
• The entrance has a step up of 9cm.
• The entrance door is 71cm x 185cm, with the hinge on the left. The keyhole is 75cm high.
• The entrance hall is 229cm high, 125cm wide and 356cm long.
• There is coat hanging and storage space in a full height cupboard immediately to the right of the front door.

Dining Room & Lounge

Access is directly from the entrance hall.
• The room is 580cm x 610cm with a vaulted ceiling to the top of the property.
• The dining table is 74cm x 156cm at a height of 80cm; there are 4 church chairs with a seat height of 47cm.
• There is a double sofa that converts into a bed 130cm x 180cm.
• There are 2 wooden Victorian armchairs with a seat height of 45cm. There is a wood-burning stove in an Inglenook fireplace in one corner.
• There is a high definition TV with FreeSat, DVD player & music system.
• There is a large set of bookshelves with an extensive collection of reading material for guests.
• There are 2 large wardrobes with storage and hanging facilities for guest clothes and belongings.


Laundry

• There is a front loading washing machine in a full height cupboard in the hallway. The washing machine is 60cm wide and 86cm high. A drying rack is also in the cupboard. A retractable washing line is available in the garden shed, with hooks to fasten it from The Old Chapel to the wash post in the garden.

• There is a patio and garden area on the south side of The Old Chapel.
• Various herbs are planted in the garden for guest use.
• The patio is made of local stone and reclaimed sleepers and therefore is an uneven surface.
• There is an unfenced wildlife pond.
• Garden furniture and BBQ are available for guests to use.
• At the back of the garden there is a shed suitable for storage of guest bicycles, fishing equipment and the like.


Bedroom

• The mezzanine bedroom is accessed from the lounge via a spiral staircase 61cm wide.
• There is a king-size double bed 156cm wide x 200cm long x 54cm high.
• To the left there is a 4 drawer chest for guest clothing, 98cm high x 92cm wide x 53cm deep. On top there is a bedside lamp and digital radio.
• To the right there is a bedside chest, 59 cm high x 77cm w x 47cm deep. On top there is a bedside lamp.
• There is a full length mirror.
• Beside the bed there are wall switches for both bedroom and lounge area lighting.


Shower Room and WC

• The room is accessed from the lounge area: the doorway is 196 high x 76 wide.
• The shower room is 290cm long x 147cm wide x 229cm high.
• The shower cubicle is 71cm x 74cm x 216 cm high.
• The wash basin height is 90cm.
• The toilet seat is 44cm high.
• The room has a wall mounted heated towel rail at a height of 105cm.


Self-Catering Kitchen

• The kitchen is accessed from the lounge area: the doorway is 196 high x 76 wide.

• There are separate fitted fridge and freezer units underneath the work surface.

• Under the work surface there is a series of cupboards and drawers containing a range of cutlery and quality cooking implements.
• Above the work surface there is a series of cupboards and shelves containing crockery, glasses, cups and other dining ware. The lowest shelf height is 133cm; the highest 176cm.
• The kitchen is evenly light by spotlights recessed in the ceiling.
• Behind the kitchen door, on he wall to the left of the cooker, there is a fire blanket.
